The Hotels Statler Company, Inc., was sold to Conrad Hilton's Hilton Hotels in 1954 for $111,000,000 in what was then the world's largest real estate transaction. They obviously did lots of giveaway items and items for sale in their In Hotel shops probably a good marketing ploy. Including things like these spoons

You have a nice little hinged metal advertising matchbook holder - like wilhenri said most likely sold in the gift stores or used as an advertising giveaway to frequent/higher paying patrons.

Depending on the advertisement these can vary in price.  The face that the matches/insert also has advertising on it makes this a fun piece.

Is there any information on the back side (usually has a manufacturers name) or inside under the match insert?
