It is weird I can see her avatar or "Karma" picture on my desk top computer but not on my iPad.
Same thing with my own avatar drawing.

Go to your control panel and one of the categories is network. Click on that and see if it says troubleshoot network.

Tried that several times already,, it says the troubleshooter can`t start !!  All the diagnostics say is,,"unknown problem" !!  We have had 6 to 8 inches of rain in the last couple of weeks !!  Always have problems when the ground is saturated and looks like more to come according to the weather on TV !!  We usually do not get this much rain at one time !!

Made my cable wire go bad. They were out this week to fix. Had no phones and internet.

Mart, me thinks you might have a corrosion problem in the junction “box” of your telephone wires on the outside of your home. If the wire terminals in that “box” get corroded it will cause a loss of data … (a few bytes here, a few bytes there) …. when your CP modem is transmitting or receiving ….. which will not only slow up your "dial-up" to a snail's pace but will “trigger” an “error” and thus a re-transmission  of the data, …. and if persistent your PC will likely signal a “not connected” error message. But the modem will continue transmitting but the “error message” won’t be cleared off your screen … for say “10 seconds” …. after the last detected error.

ps: that corrosion will also cause "static" when talking on your phone.

So, I suggest you call your telephone company and tell them they have a problem with the entrance “line” coming into your home ….. and to get out there and fix it. If its “outside” its their problem to fix, not yours. I had a similar problem about 5 years or so ago and they replaced that OLD connection “box” on the side of my house with a NEW waterproof one.
