Religious carved wood pole statue

Hi,

I was searching about and came across this wood statue. First impression I assumed it reflected Judaism with the star craved on the forehead, though this is purely a guess. The carving shows some age as it doesn't appear contemporary, however I'm assuming it's mid entry given the type of nails in the base.

I'd like to know more about the piece as it's interesting to say the least.

It measures 31" tall, 3.5" wide, with the base being 5" wide.

Any details would kindly be appreciated, I would like to further my understanding.

I sure don't know , but I'm thinking that perhaps your item was once a cudgel , or a piece of one  ... (or intended to look like one) ....

again , just guessing , but I think it may be related to the second World War & Jewish people & concentration (death) camps of the German Nazi type , esp with it having a 'death's head' below the depicted face with the Star of David on the forehead .
