Maker Mark Triple Neck Vase
« on: June 15, 2015, 07:14:19 am »
Good Morning Everyone,

I have another one with question found at thrift store in Georgia (USA).  Measuring approximately 8" X 5 1/2".  I have researched in the past and concluded it was similar to Raku Pottery.  It is marked on bottom (see photos).  As mentioned I am a amateur at this and really need some expert eyes.  The mark on the bottom does not look like a pottery mark, but I am not sure.  Please take a look and give me your thoughts.  Interesting little piece.  Thanking you in advance.

Well,, you are right,, it is an interesting free form vase  !!  And you are correct again,, that is not a pottery or studio mark !!  My guess is that it was someone just learning the Raku process if that is how it was done !! It does have some of the irridescence of Raku but hard to tell from pics !!
