rolled gold braclet
« on: August 01, 2005, 09:03:01 am »
I have had an antique rolled gold braclet that has been handed down to me, as our family airloom but i dont have any information about it, or know where i could find out more about it, it has a marking c61 on it, and also it says patent 680368.
if anybody knows wot these 2 things mean, can u pls send me a msg or an email to help me out please, it would be much appreciated, as i'm only 18 i have no clue about antigues, and if this bracelet is worth a lot i would like to get it restored if its worth it, as its my only family airloom.

my grandad's aunt handed it down to my grandma when they got married, so it is definately over 100years old.

Rolled gold is a plated gold - the value may be in that is an antique.  Your first stop is your local jewelry store - for more info on rolled gold plate and age - then you might run google searches for -- vintage jewelry  -- or --  antique jewelry -- there's lots of great sites out there and perhaps you'll find your treasure - ask you jeweler to look for a maker's mark - some "costume" jewelry is very valuable.  KB
