not interested
« on: October 24, 2015, 09:25:18 am »
I was on a fall foliage trip when I stopped at an antique shop. A sign in the window stated "I'm always buying". I chatted with the proprietor a while and mentioned that I had inherited my parents estate and was looking to sell many items. He said to let him know what I was selling. So I sent him photos by email with descriptions and what I was asking (see attached photos of the items). He mailed back a saying he wasn't interested in anything I was selling. Any idea why?

There is no reason for buying an item if one doesn't have a market for it.

And ps, a dealer will not purchase another person's "memories".

Have you tried your local craigslist ?? Its free and easy to do and they pick up !!  The dresser is a bit overpriced,, I suspect its from the 40`s or 50`s so hard to get that much !!  Chest you can maybe deal on !!  The other things look reasonable !!  Collar/cuff box I would not take less than that price or the childs chair !!  Doll collectors love those things !!

In our area you'd be lucky to get $100 for the dresser :(

Which means it would wholesale in the $50 range IF the dealer had a market for it.
