« on: January 06, 2016, 12:52:46 pm »
Hi there,

Any ideas about the time period of this oak desk/bureau?

Thanks,

I'd say 1890. Somewhat astylar, but I see some Eastlake in the shape of the gallery.

Can you please post more pictures, close ups, desk open, etc?

Are you in Scotland, Chloe ?

Edit - just remembered, you're in New Zealand but the furniture is from the UK.

It's good quality arts and crafts / art nouveau period stuff which might even have been made by one of the top Scottish firms or possibly Shapland and Petter but their items tend to have their initials on any locks or a number on the back ( like R213 or something like that )

Hope they sell well !

Would like to see more pics too but so far looks like late 20`s early 30`s with a nod towards A&C !!
