ANTIQUE RAILROAD DESK OR DRAFTING TABLE
« on: August 18, 2005, 08:09:53 pm »
I  have a rather large solid oak desk with an inclined top.  The front of the desk is open to the left with an iron bar for placing your feet.  On the right side are 10 key-holed drawers which the interior is made of tin.  The desk has two cabinets,  one on the side in which maybe canvasas could be placed (slide in).  It also has a door on the back.  In the upper left hand corner of the inclined top is a hole (possibly for an inkwell) with the number 29 marked in front of the hole.  The desk measures 40" tall by 38" wide.

Does anyone know what the purpose of this desk is and whether or not it is a drafting table, railroad desk, etc.
