Can't say I have ever seen one that style! I would have never guessed it would have cost that pretty penny!
Yeah, that is a feature of Shaker furniture that most americans are not aware but the outside world generally is, Shaker is the ONLY furniture that is 100% american designed. All other furniture designs from pilgrim to today's sawdust furniture we "borrowed" from someone else, not so with Shaker, it is uniquely american designed.
When you say "american furniture" to a european furniture collector, it's very likely the first thing that comes to their mind is, Shaker. It's odd that most americans are not even aware of this.
