One vintage maker among others was Heubach who used a number system (along with their trademark on some pieces) to identify different molds.
These bisque figures were more valuable at one time before the Berlin Wall came down. Shortly after that, tens of thousands of original old molds were discovered in what had been East Germany. The marketplace seemed to be filled with newly made examples. I found it became difficult to convince anyone that what I had was actually early 1900's vs.1990's.
