Vaseline Glass Pieces
« on: May 01, 2017, 03:09:35 pm »
Hi All!  Started going through inherited boxes and came across these pieces of Vaseline Glass.  They are vaseline glass with gold gilding.  Other than that don't know much else.  Maker?  Pattern?  Value?

I first thought it was a cruet set...but obviously not with only these two pieces.  One appears to be an oil/vinegar cruet? (6"H x 3 1/4"W at base with lid 7"H) and the other a syrup/molasses pitcher (7 1/2"H x 4"W at base)?

Lots of makers, as I'm sure you know. Vaseline glass was most popular from the 1880s through WW I, and yours looks like they fall into that range, ca. 1900. I'd expect to see them on E-Bay for around $25.00 - $35.00 apiece.

You can try to get more info here, but I do not think they discuss value: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php

Here you can browse through lots of old pattern books, but mainly they are European: http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/h2-glas-br-musterbuch-de-h2.26.0.html
