I bought out a storage and found this wonderful table inside.I have no idea who the maker is but was told it wasn't made in USA.What kind of table is this called.Would love any information.

Susiecat, what did the seller tell you about where it was made? The consensus seems to be that it was made in the USA.

Mart and KC,

Please behave!  You are going to give Jacon4 "the big one" with all this talk about "sanding" and "fitting with a marble, travertine or soapstone top"....

Too funny!!!

Castors were common on furniture until late 1930`s !!  Would like to see under the top,, Could be German or Dutch even if made here !!

We may likely never know what the table was originally for.  But would still like to see pics of undersides of top and bottom!

If you look at the carvings,, they have the typical Pennsylvania Dutch tulip shape !!  Thats where I think it may have been made !!

Usually a library table is open along the length,, this is open on the ends !!  Its unusual !!  But still would look good in a country kitchen !!

Mart, I noticed the same thing about the Pennsylvania Dutch aspects of the piece...yet the rest of it doesn't yell that out.
