Given the airplane at lower right I would guess late 40's or early 50's.

Someone that knows airplanes could date it more precisely.

With all the information below believe this was made AFTER 1940.

Hard to date it by the aircraft except that you know it was made after the invention of these:
Graf Zepplin operated commercially Sept 1928 - Sept 1937
Flight from Lisbon to Rio:  First flight wasn't a sea plane!  However the first successful to make the journey in a
FaireyIII Biplane/seaplane (second attempt) was 1922. With others attempted to beat records up to 1930.
Southern Cross was the flight in 1928 from California to Hawaii.  The results of this flight influenced Admiral Byrd for his
flight as to the use of equipment to use for a TRANS flight.
BYRD:  Richard E Byrd was a transatlantic aviator who had his first transatlantic flight in 1927 but his Antarctic flights
       most noted were 1928 - 1930 and 1939 - 1940.

My better half says it just appears to be someone who loved aviation history and travel history. and the sentimental note of "achievement".  (Married to International Captain who has loved the skies over 42 years!)

Speaking of the Graf Zeppelin :
I was appraising some items in a box several years ago and came across what appeared to be standard issue military field glasses, until I noticed the code LZ127 on them. They were actually viewing binoculars handed out on the GZ flights. Wish I’d bought them ( I think they sold for about £120 )

This is a beautiful piece!

Interesting that the Southern Cross didn't make it's only truly noted flight and historical at that until May 1928.  Byrd didn't have his record setting and historical flight until 1928 and after.  Yet this is noted as being from 1927???

I question the dating of the piec, even if it is at Stanford edu, due to the fact that it states:  "[Place of publication not identified] : [Publisher not identified], 1927." and the the noted aviation flights were ALL after 1927.

Lisbon to Rio was 1922
Southern Cross was flying before 1927
The infamous Byrd crossing was 1927
The Graf Zeppelin was being built in 1927

Not impossible that this was drawn in 1927 and the other Wheeler / Hawthorne prints were produced in the 1920s

Ipcress, agree that it could have been made in 1927...but based on what?  No known origin/publisher/place or origin.  I was thinking 1928 - 1930.  Irregardless it is a nice collectible for a flying enthusiast!

Interesting collage portraying three (3) 19th Century sailing ships, ….. one (1) 20th Century steamship ….. and four (4) 20th Century airplanes.

Makes one think that per se “map” is a portrayal of the early means of travel between the Americas. :-\ :-\ :-\

Yes it looks like all modes of transportation.

What is interesting is ---  that the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce (Aerospace Industries Association) published books for the years of flight history and none of the flights are noted in the 1927 book that are on this piece (because they had to have occurred to be noted).  However, they are all noted in the 1928 edition under Epochal Flights of 1927!

And Ipcress, sorry I thought I had posted this previously but didn't.  HOW COOL IS THAT about the viewing glasses!!!!!!!!!  Yep, bet it was one of those "I could kick myself in the pants" moments for not impulse buying!

I catalogued them and then forgot to place a commission bid before the auction, KC. Didn’t like bidding during the auction as I thought it look unprofessional

Same with the Dali letter where he’d doodled on the paper. Now that was one of those “What the hell was I thinking ?! “ moments. Could have been mine for about £300

Well...we hopefully learn from our mistakes and either buy or pass (and hopefully with no regrets - especially if we could have afforded it at the time!)🤓
