WWII Ribbon Bar Pins...I think?
« on: January 14, 2018, 05:55:40 pm »
Hello,

I have what I believe are 3-WWII Ribbon Bar pins.  They each measure approximately:  4-1/4" X 3/8".  I'm curious to know which branch of service these are and if the stars represent "wars in battle".  Please let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Top and bottom are WWI campaign ( colours similar to the British )
Middle appears to be a mixture of navy and army service ribbons

Offhand, the one I recognize first is the upper left-hand one. I'm sure that's a WWII Asiatic-Pacific Campaign ribbon. The little bronze Service Star would indicate the recipient served in that campaign.

Ipcress,
Thanks for the response.  I just wanted to clarify that you meant WWI and not WWII.

You’re right. Seems to be a mixture.

Next to that is the American Campaign Medal, then the American Defense Medal.

Middle bar - American Forces Reserve Medal ( light blue / white ) Navy Good Conduct with 3 service stars, Army Good Conduct

Right / Top bar - Occupation Medal, WWII victory medal, National Defense Service Medal

The WWII victory medal uses the same colours as the WWI victory medal and a website I used yesterday stated that the American Campaign Medal was WWI, whereas it appears to be WWII

It would be almost impossible, at least in the British Service, for a single soldier to have all three medals in the middle bar.
