Chair History/Value?

Posting for a friend....

"Can anyone out there tell me any details about the potential style/value of these chairs? I believe they belonged to my great grandparents who were 2nd generation immigrants from Germany (born in 1875 & 1876 respectively). I'm unsure if they bought the chairs new or if they had been handed down to them."

Looks like walnut, Eastlake era ca. 1890-1910, a side chair in a parlor set. In the U.S. central midwest it would probably be worth about $25-$35.

Yes,, Ghopper is correct !!  I would expect different carvings if it had been brought from Germany !!  Value a bit higher here maybe $40. to $50.   For some reason Eastlake style has never been popular other than during that time period !!

Yeah, Late to thread but agree with others, Eastlake. Single chairs are always a tough sell unless an outstanding example or has historical importance.

I agree with the other forum family...but here in my neck of the woods (near big cities) the chair would sell for $50 - $90.
