Cogar,, you know me better than that !!
Mart, sure I know you better than that and I also know exactly why you posted your “what’s-it” question.
This ain't my 1st rodeo, ya know ..... but it is my 78th trip around the Sun.
I thought Kroger glass was a pretty good name but had never heard that term so I thought that I might learn something knew.
Shur nuff, Mart, shur nuff, ……. anyway, that only rarely happens with my postings because whenever I use an uncommon or “local” term such as “Kroger glass” I usually always try to explains what it is or means for the benefit of the ones, or twos, or dozens or hundreds of “viewers” who might be reading my posted comment(s).
But the last time I was still highly irritated because of the “clicky” handle thingy concerning the tea service on the other thread and said “to hell with an explanation of Kroger glass”. Why should I bother explaining my “pet names” of items when no one else bothers to explain their “pet” names for items and why am I being questioned about my "actions" when no one else is being questioned for similar actions. Maybe it is the ole "sexual harassment" trick where what is said matters not, ...... but who said it matters a lot.
I am not sure how to address the forum other than to say "anyone" that may know the answer !!
If you don’t ask “questions” you may never know the “answer” to resolve your curiosity, and your way of “asking” is fine with me.
And KC made the mention of "twig handles" not me !!
“YUP”, shur nuff, ..... but KC made mention of "bamboo handles" prior to KC making mention of "twig handles" specifically for my benefit..
So in closing, ……. I certainly will try to think of a more inclusive term than to say "anyone who knows" !!
That’s probably a good idea, Mart, ….. because “
those who know” may be scarcer than “hen’s teeth” and some of them wouldn’t respond even if you specifically ask them to, …… and those who don’t know won’t have any reason to reply.
“HA”, I didn’t know, but I offered my opinion …… and I sure as hell got ignored, derided and criticized for doing said. And I still think said tea service is English in origin, ….. and that makes me correct until someone provides good reason or proves otherwise.
