1960 B S wardrobe with lock
« on: February 21, 2019, 07:29:44 pm »
I have found an old wardrobe. It's labeled 1960 B S which I have discovered in research stands for the British code of "Made mostly of wood" licence number is 2110 from company Dependable. How do I find the value of this? I have searched everywhere and only found 1 piece like this that sold for 285$. Mind you I am purchasing this for 30$ but am not sure what I am really getting. Can anyone please help me?

I don't know your exact location, but I have a feeling that if you can get $285 for it, then take the money and run.

In my location you might get $50 to $100 for it. Again, very much depending on condition.

I think they said they already purchased it for $30.  If you plan on keeping it great deal. If you purchased for resale .. in the US I would agree 50 To 100. With walk-in closets wardrobes are not a great selling item.

I once sold a (wooden) wardrobe to a lady who wanted it for her in-home “sewing” room. She made quilts and sold them …. and wanted it as an easily viewable, easily accessible …… “handy” place for storing her collection of material (fabric). If I remember correctly, she was going to add 2 or 3 more shelves for stacking the material on.

So, a “repurposed” wardrobe became her “fabric” vault. 😊

Iffen you are trying to sell old or secondhand items to an interested but hesitant or potential customer, it really improves your chance of “a sale” if you suggest two or 3 different “uses” or decorating “ideas” that your “buyer” may never have considered or thought of.

“HA”, I shudda closed with …….

An old wooden wardrobe - $30, ……. a material storage vault - $175

Great advice about giving the possibilities for use!

In our area this would sell for between $90 to $145 depending upon condition and SMELL!!!

Here you go !!  Was wondering what a 1960 date would be doing on a wardrobe that was quite a bit earlier !!
1960 was not a date of manufacture !!
