Prayer rug from ?

New find so anybody able to tell where made and maybe when ? Size is about 128x200 cm . The used motifs must be the link probably to the area ?  Thanks

Looks like handmade wool rug !!  Tree of life pattern,, probably made in Turkey !!

Think I need a specialized site about rugs and designs to find out more  8) . To my knowledge it is possible to find out the place where made and when because off the used symbols and design off the rug as is . The way the knots are made and the amount off knot's by squire inch are also a link to exact place off origin . Any good site anywhere on the Net ?

There are lots of antique rug dealers who might want to render their opinion. I'm not aware of any forums, but haven't really looked.

Seen the last few days many rugs that are online but still nothing similar in design  ??? .  What is good in the way that it.s not a very familiar design for a prayer rug . The less to find the better for the value  ;D if it comes to the market .

Not really !!  From what I can find your rug is not a typical prayer rug but rather a simple area rug !!  Prayer rugs have a niche at one end that should be pointed toward Mecca when praying !!  I do not see that on your rug !!

Still think it's closer to a prayer rug then an normal rug .

If you look at the tree closed sides off the border and the direction off the three off life symbols and the top ornaments on the right angular parts in the middle section it's still giving a direction . So more to a prayer rug then a normal rug I think  ???

Seen that one and many others and I have some off them myself . Have to find the pictures again on the net off similar ways off pointing out Mekka like my rug . But there's only a few and many pages off rugs so will take some time again . Certain tribes making carpets have similar ways off showing a direction . Here's some off my other rugs in the house .

Nice rugs but to the one you posted about,, you will have to take it to someone who has more information than I do !!  Rugs of any kind are not my strong point !!
