Victorian Chair.......Help Help!
« on: August 12, 2019, 03:28:56 pm »
Hey there:

This is from an upcoming auction. Don't know a thing about it, but it's......interesting.

Sorry, this is the only photo.

How much would you say this is worth?

Thanks!!

High back parlor chair?!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Yep, SUPER high back!!  I'm thinking ecclesiastical.

I'm thinking $100-$200?

I agree. Up to $250.

The picture appears that the wood is in good condition and looks as if it has been recovered.

I'd say right on both counts!

Ms Ghopper is not thrilled with the idea of ANOTHER piece of furniture, but we'll see what happens here. Thing is, the auction's kind of a drive. Anyway, I'll be interested to find out what is sells for.

1880 to about 1910 !!  These Gothic like styles were popular with some about the same time as Eastlake !!  You can see the Eastlake influence in the shallow carvings !!
