I just purchased a chest of drawers that was described as a "hotel lap desk" .
it is a chest of drawers with a large drawer on the bottom another large drawer above that with two small drawers on top
IN between the two small top drawers are little doors that swing out to reveal a sliding drawer that looks like it should hold envelopes stamps etc.
underneath the top row of drawers and doors is a pull out shelf(?) that is i guess the "lap desk"
It also looks as though at one time it had holes in the top at the back for maybe a mirror or just a "backsplash"
I was told it is solid mahogany.
Can anyone tell me what it is really called? i have been searching for a picture of something like it but don't really know where to start.
