Probably a form of a carved feast bowl from the Northwest Coast area.  The bowl was intended to be filled with eulachon or candlefish oil, which was eaten as a delicacy and used to soften dried berries. Most likely made for the tourist trade.

Hi cogar here is a picture of the bottom on a sheet that is in inches.
