Beautiful Ornate Cup & Saucer
« on: February 22, 2006, 08:46:40 pm »
Hi, I am looking for some information on two beautiful cups & saucers that I inherited.  They were given to my mother in the 60's by an elderly friend who told her they were quite valuable.  They appear to be a fairly thin, handmade, hand painted porcelain.  there are no marking on the bottom at all.  Both cups have subtle differences in the shapes and design which lead me to believe they were made by hand.  The roses are a very pretty light pink in groups of 2 & 3, and there is a lot of gold trim.  I  have included a link to pictures.  http://spaces.msn.com/spookums/photos/ Anything you could tell me would be appreciated (age, origin, value, whatever).  thanks so much

not ignoing your post - but I've personally never seen the likes in my area such as yours, tho' I've seen thin eggshell porcelain - infrequently -

Are you an e-bay member?

If you are, there's a great site on e-bay for pottery/porcelain discussion and ID.  Your pics are great and I hope someone can give a value.  KB
