Trunk and cubboard
« on: May 18, 2006, 08:36:37 pm »
I found a trunk at a local antique shop and it is a super solid trunk. Really sturdy and quite heavy. Its a tool bench and when I opened it up it has smaller wooden trays in it. I also found a certifiacte(sp?) that was dated 1929, so i'm guessing its from around that era. What would something like this go for? its really well constructed. It also has  a matching smaller trunk. They are askinf 295 for big trunk and 125 for small trunk.

There is a painted cubboard that has two medium sized glass doors and stands about 5 ft tall and is raised of the grown by four curved wooden legs. It also looks like a nice solid peice. They are asking 125 for it. I was going to consider stripping the paint and staining the wood. Any thoughs on price?

The trunk and cupboard both read like they might fall into the primitive category. Hard to tell without photos. Prices will vary due to construction, age, condition, etc.

Only you can tell whether it's priced right for you or not. You can always make a counter offer and see what they will do............If you like it and the price is right then you have a bargain.

I will agree with tim. the cupboard should remain painted to retain it's value if it is vintage paint.
