WHAT DO I HAVE?

I have a carved wooden bust of what appears to be either an African or Indian woman.  I know my in-laws brought it over from England many years ago.  On the bottom it says;
A. FATIMAH
MO.PAIT

It appears to be out of mahogony or reddish colored wood.
I haven't been able to trace the inscription or find anything that resembles this.  There is also a male statue that matches the woman. A cousin has that.
What can anyone tell me?
