carnival glass I think?
« on: May 03, 2008, 06:48:24 am »
Hi there. I have a plate with a 10 point star (looks like a flower) in the centre that has a hole drilled through the centre. Does any one know why this might be? It was handed down as my great great grandmother's who lived in northern ireland until around 1920. After a bit of searching I thought maybe it was carnival or depression glass, but I really don't have a clue. It is a pink glass with an orange sheen on the diamond and hexangonally patterned underside. Any comments that could shed more light on the origin of the plate would greatly appreciate. many thanks.
