This guitar belonged to husbands mother who purchased it in 1938. There's a lot of history with. In her younger years she used to play and sing backup for some of the well know country singers, Charlie Rich etc. She even cut a few records but never became well known. What I've found out on some of my research is that this was a line of guitars made by Gibson during the depression for Carson J Robison and sold by Montgomery Ward.
I was wondering if there is any value in this guitar because it was made by Gibson for Carson J Robison, who was the first singing cowboy.
It does show wear and has a few scratches and a chip and split on the front.
