HELP!
« on: August 18, 2003, 04:49:59 pm »
I am trying to find some information on a print my grandmother purchased at an antique store in New Philadelphia, OH, about 6 years ago.  It is a reproduction of a watercolor depicting a young girl of about 10- 12 years old with long dark hair and large brown eyes sitting on a bed against a light green background.  She is wearing simple sheath of cream or white and her arms and legs are bare and there are blue butterflies or bows in her hair.  The original might have been painted by a French or British artist in the late 1700's to mid-1800's.  The print was manufactured by the Columbian Colortype Company of Chicago (that is printed on the lower left hand corner of the picture), anywhere from 1910 until the mid-1940'sIt appears to be in its original frame although it has been repaired.  Does anyone know anything about the Columbian Colortype Company or perhaps the original piece?  I would really appreciate any help!  Thanks!
