porcelain doll?
« on: July 05, 2008, 02:19:11 am »
Hi All,

I have an old porcelain doll that my grandmother left me.  She was originally from Germany, and came over to the States around 1890.  The doll itself is all porcelain  - head, arms, hands, legs, feet, etc.  She has no particular markings that I can find except a portugal stamp.  she has old silk clothes on.  I haven't a picture (she is in storage) but I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a market for such dolls and how much she might be worth?

Thanks,
Div.

hi
there is normally a good market for dolls, you could try trademe or ebay by looking at the dolls that they sell.  This may well give you a place to start as in the pricing.  good luck :)

Thanks,  I've looked but I haven't found any examples of all porcelain from Portugal on there.  :)  It does seem like the general market is good though.
