Inherited these figurines with markings
« on: January 28, 2009, 02:15:10 pm »
I have inherited these figurines.  I tried some research but could not find the exact same markings.  I would like to know what they are.  They came from my great grandmother, who imigrated here from Germany.   Thanks for any help you can offer in helping me identify them.

Thank you for taking the time to look.  My children and I are really interested in knowing about them.  It will make for great hand-me-downs if there is a story behind them.  Especially since they have been packed in a box in our closet for years!

Yes I would. but there's 30+ company's that used a similar trademark. I thought sure I had it. but I don't. by all indications they are german.

I contacted Chris Marshall. & expert in german Trademark's asked him to stop in and take a look. he has been here before.

I thought it was German as well...but couldn't find a matching mark.  The mystery continues!

Hi all!

Rotate the mark picture 90 degrees clockwise ... it's a mark used by HomCo; the items are Asian imports. Here is a clearer (later) version; the black markings shown by the original poster seem to be the early (handpainted) versions of this mark whereas mine is a later (machine-applied) version. Note that their marks are frequently found with or without leading letters (C-, S-, etc.) which are claimed to be an indicator of designer. But that's all I know, sorry.
