What the heck , tharr ....
I say refinish it & use it ... keeping in mind what D&b mentioned i.e. $ & your motivations/skills .
By the time you're done with stripping , gluing , sanding , staining & finishing the wood you'll have a handsome table that's WAY better than any chipboard-core crap on the market .... besides , it's lasted this long , hasn't it ?
If you do strip it & find that there's 'odd' (non-matching grains/woods) on the large turnings on the table legs , do what the manufacturer did : go with very dark stains .
Hang on to it for a few decades & it WILL be an antique .
