Please help me with these 2 items (I think i got it now)

The first is a ashtray,it says New York Worlds Fair 1939.I would like to know if it could be authentic,if not,that's ok.I purchased it at a thrift store for .98 cents.

The other is a dish of some sort,but i don't have a clue.It has the # 56 stamped in the center of the bottom.

I found one similar to your ashtray... well sort of. It's slightly different but does mention a copyright symbol. Does yours have any other stamps or markings on it? This one is made of wood:

It's says on the website: "Brass ashtray with ruffled edge features Trylon and Perisphere in the center. Says New York World's Fair around rim and says copyright NYWY. Excellent condition."

I would say to look for a copyright symbol on yours to determine if it's genuine.

This is an original ashtray.

I have seen prices range from $15 to $35 for them.
The ones that bring a higher price (up to $60) are made of carved wood.
