my brass antique

i bought item at antique shop dealer has no idea what it is nor i its about 10inches oval shaped like an egg cant openit and hangs on chain has man in roman outfit and woman on both sides of item almost looks religious but has no holes in it and it dosent open.anyones help would be good

It could be a weight if it is heavy, like a counter weight for a gate, or a weight for a clock. Photos would help to identify it!

I saw many of these type items (and have a smaller one) - were common in Russia!  For decor and smaller for jewelry!
