What is it, rather what is it missing?
« on: October 17, 2009, 09:34:12 pm »
Mysty (my wonderful lady), came home with something.  It appears to be a burner, that is the obvious part of course, but what it hold above the flame.   She believes it to be for wax and gave a lengthy description that kinda made me go Uh, huh, yea Uh Huh  ???, something about wax flow etc.  Anyway the angle I can see for flow, but why the larger bracket on the downhill side, I could maybe see smaller side on the down hill.  I'm so confused   :o.   Anyway we do know it is leonard silverplate, which make is just vintage, Leonard starting in 1969, and has lots of factories in India, but this is marked Italy, guess they have a plant there too.  She paid 4 dollars for it and actually proably about that value.  So we just don't know what it is?  Please help me get a few point from her   ;)

Break out the brandy Ironlord,  I think your sweetie brought home a brandy snifter warming set! You're missing the glass! Although I'm a little unsure because the larger curve is below the smaller one. Maybe this warms a bottle rather than the snifter.

So now what kind of wine/liquor would one want to warm?   ::)       Looks to me like it would hold a bottle of some sort........then again that's likely because I'm enjoying one right now.  :D

Oops, Tales beat me to it..........so I guess the ladies have it, eh?  ;)

I think we did Sapphire! Pour me one!  ;D

Here's one that looks a little more like Ironlord's. This one is listed as a silver plated cognac warmer.

Mysty thanks you, she even has a silverplated Brandy sniffer to go with it, maybe she would like brandy better if it was warm, espically the cheaper stuff.  It makes total sense when we put the sniffer on the post it would work well.  Once again Ladies for the culture.

Mysty seem to be happy with her find, she was looking for stuff to add to her desk, but like it better on her bar.  She loves her bar almost as much as her desk.  Since she or rather we now know what it is, it will be on the bar.  I posted a couple of pics, one of the holder now sitting on bar and one of the whole bar.  This is the side board we aquired a few weeks ago (posted earlier)  which is now one of her prides, Now it looks better with the brandy warmer.  She thanks you ladies again.

Nice Set Up!  Side board really looks nice!  Glad it has a new life with you!

You have a  nice arrangement there Ironlord.
These items display beautifully combined together like that.
I think these old buffet's have allot of class and are great items for presentation and display of your other antiques, not to mention the storage aspect.
Really has great character to it.

Don't sell yourself short Ironlord.
Lets just say that you guys make a good team in the field of antiques.
What could be better than someone who knows how to present these items well and the other who knows how to dig them up and photograph them.
