and lastly what appears to be a hand carved table,when obtained 25 or so years ago,.it had a thick coat of varnish and the inlay design was not evident,no marks on it besides some pencil scrawls...and help? thank you also!

Nice piece!  Keep an eye on the parquetry on top.....looks as if it could have some problems coming down the line!
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!
