OK, how about this watch???
« on: December 12, 2009, 09:52:29 am »
This watch I know a little more about.  It says "Gruen" and "precision" on the watch face and "Gruen" and "10Kgold filled" on the back of the bezel.  It is also a 1940s-1970s era watch.  Any idea how much it's worth?

Again, sorry for these pics, I can't seem to get good shots of the writing on the watch . . .

Is it in running condition?  These bring a lot more than not running.  Gruen is among the more desired older watches.  The men's watches seem to bring more than the ladies model.  Yours appears to have an original "band".  If it's running, keeping time and with the case being gold filled, on Ebay it should bring  $25 - $50.  If not running.........wel l......most jewelers nowadays charge $60 to clean and adjust.  At least that was the price a few years ago.

Jondar is correct.  Men's wristwatches bring considerable more money than womens watches.  This is especially true if the mens watch is a 'curvex'.  Gruen is an old respected name wristwatch.
