Need Help Identifying Artist and Painting (J. McKelvie?)

We are trying to find out some information on a painting. Not sure if it is American art or not?

The signature appears to be something like "J. McKelvie 1893".

Can anyone help us out regarding this artist or where this painting may be from? (ie USA, Whales, Canada, etc)

Can't really see the signature on it. Is it in the bottom left corner? Maybe you can provide a better photo.

I agree with syl .. can't see much from your image ...
Could you please post another of the sig , without the reflections ?

I have updated the photo of the Artist's signature to see if that helps.

Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.
