australian war antique? photos now work..need help please..
« on: March 04, 2010, 07:06:59 pm »
Hi everyone,

I have come across two items. I have spent the last month or so trying to do some research on them but I haven't been able to find ANY information. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I am thinking about just putting them on ebay or something as I am going overseas soon. This is my first post so just let me know if I am missing something.

One item is dated 26-1-42.

1) Helmet

2) Gas mask

Thanks for viewing!

You have a U.S. WWII helmet pot and a WWII Mark V British gas mask without the carry bag,  does the helmet have a liner shell and straps? Inside shot of helmet would help.  Gas mask is not that rare and incomplete without carry bag and rubber covering of tube.

A year or so ago I sold a U.S. pot helmet that I bought in a box with a lot of other things.  It had the liner and a "net" covering.  On e-bay it brought, IIRC, around $80.  There are several types of these so recommend you look at the ones on e-bay and identify the types, you will need to show this if you decide to sell it at auction.

thanks for your help,
i don't have the net/covering so going by your comments its not worth the hassel of trying to sell.
They are also aren't in a very good condition.
thanks!
