Your posting brought back memories of Friedrich. Several years ago I almost went to work for them. A friend of mine was employed by them, and when an opening in the sales force came up he told the sales manager about me and I was to go down for an interview. The factory was in South Texas, I believe just across the border from Reynosa, Mexico. A week before the interview the sales manager was killed while attempting to pull a .30-30 Winchester carbine from the trunk of his car while on a deer hunt. I believe their quality of air conditioners was second to none. That's all they made at the time I corresponded with them.
