Can someone tell me what this is?  Found it in the Kitchen...

It's called a "ricer" for straining stuff. Most of these date to about the 1920's to 1940's. I'll post some back-up sources, but I know this one for sure.

That's what i figured, but the diameter is so small...about the size of a mug...I wasn't sure...

Here's some source info- This one claims that these make "the fluffiest mashed potatoes ever".

I don't think it'll stay in the family.  I like my mashed 'taters a little chunky anyway!

It's also great for squeezing all the water out of spinach...to make spinach dip!  Yum!!!

But....it is a ricer for taters!!!!!
