I was researching this bowl. I have The Kovel's Dictionary of Marks, but I can't find it.

Huh?  STA is not part of the mark unless you are looking at it upside down.  There is a P and an S with divided lines and then Germany underneath that.  The rest of the mark is smudged so bad it is hard to tell if is part of the mark or just a smudge.

Wayward I see where they believe it is as an A - however could be a V.  Agree it isn't STA

Hopefully Chris will drop by and give his expertise!

I see how if you flip it and read it upside down there is an STA but then Germany is upside down.  As it is stamped, I still think it is a P.  As a V it would be offset with the bottom point of the V over to the left.  It is a smudged mark which makes it quite difficult to decipher if one is not familiar with the company mark (which I am not).

Maybe you could change the title to "Cant find these CHINA markings in my book so that Chris will know to look. I Agree, could be a P, V or even R. This is a tough one.

Maybe that's my problem. I wear glasses too! Could it be Royal Vienna?

Where o where is Chris Marshall?  I wear trifocals but I am also nearsighted so I do not need glasses for closeup work.  Royal Vienna???

I have searched all my resources....this could also possibly be the importers mark and indicating that the piece is fired/made in Germany!
