A few items that I'm unsure about.
« on: April 04, 2011, 07:36:59 pm »
I have a few items here that I think are worth something, I don't know the history on any of them, just bought at yard sales.

First I think is something that I've heard about called "depression glass".  The pictures aren't good but it is a green glass with a oily/metallic look to it.  No identifying marks though.  It is a Tray, Creamer Cup and Sugar cup set.

Second is a Gorham Cup.  I've identified it as Stirling Silver but I am unsure of its value.  I also don't know whether or not I should remove the tarnish.

Third is a Reuge Box.  I haven't had any luck finding a value for it on the internet.  The Stickers on the bottom identify it being made in Italy and sold at the San Francisco Music Co. It plays Killing me Softly by Roberta Flack.

Lastly is a Rosenthal Classic Rose Collection Tea cup? and Saucer.  It is smaller in size then a regular tea cup.

Thanks for the help everyone!  I can provide more pictures upon request.

If yours is like my set....it is carnival glass, creamer and sugar.  http://indianaglass.carnivalheaven.com/id21.htm  Current market value $20 - $35.

What identifying mark does your silver item have on the bottom?  Please post picture.

The song for the music box puts it after 1974.  Would need to see marks on it.

Once again, would need to see the markings on your cup/sauce.  If it is smaller, then it is a demitasse cup/saucer.

Those glass sets look identical, thanks.
Here are the pictures for the others.

For the music box I don't have any confirmed info about the song, it's what my mother said it was after I showed the box to her.

First picture is the Cup's bottom, second is the Saucer.  I noticed the markings were slightly different, don't know if that matters or not.

Thanks for the response KC!

I agree with KC. I am not a glass person, but seeing the mold line in the glass tells me that it would be later than Depression Glass, which was rolled out and then pressed into molds. The Depression Glass pieces I have have no mold lines and have a distinctly different feel to them than modern glassware. They are like antique "wavy glass" windows.

Your piece isn't sterling.  Note the EP...which means electro plated silver plate! Believe you have a mint julep cup.

Agree with everyone !! The creamer and sugar was likely from the 60`s , to 70`s reproductions !!  But they are being collected now !! Thats about the right price !!
