Western stoneware is common and not "the" collectible stoneware in my area (Wisconsin). Red Wing is "the" stoneware. I have a few Western crocks and jugs, mainly because they are so reasonable compared to other brands. I have not paid more than $25 for a perfect Western crock and usually less than that. The largest I have is a 10 gal crock and the largest jug is a 5 gal. I am not sure how scarce an 8 gal crock size is. Any hairlines, cracks, etc. decrease the value.
