OK, I get what you mean, mart.
A point I made in one of my first posts was this rod length is not original and was extended for display purposes by the father. One can make a lightning rod longer or shorter by adding to the tubes or shortening the tubes. I think Tim was thinking this was some rare unheard of extra tall lightning rod which is not the case IMO. Taking off the balls and arrow would reveal how many tubes are joined, if the tubes are original. Or one could go and buy some copper tubing to make a one piece rod and then just add the original rod pointed-tip. There is not much value in the copper lightning rod either...they are very common. Value lies with the different shape and color of the balls and the arrow (if all original).
