Unopened Coca~Cola Bottle
« on: April 30, 2011, 11:13:40 pm »
I'm sure you get lots of questions on here about coke bottles and such, but this one is different. Not only is it one of the money back bottles, it is unopened. The top of the metal cap says:
"COCA~COLA
Trademark®
Carbonated Water, Sugar,
Caramel Color, Phos
phoric Acid, Natural
 Flavorings, Caffeine."
There is also a seal of some sort with an outer ring saying "State of Louisiana Soft Drink Tax" and an inner ring saying "Union, Justice, Confidence" on the top.

The rim says "BOTTLED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE COCA~COLA CO., TWIST OFF TO OPEN, BY NATCHEZ COCA~COLA BOTTLING CO., NATCHEZ MS 39120.

The bottom has an outer ring saying "ABARDEEN MISS", an inner ring saying "BOTTLE TRADE MARK" and there is an L. in the middle.

The bottle is a transparent green, and the liquid is rich brown. The bottle is quite tall, exactly 11 inches. As you can see in the images, the cap is still perforated, therefore unopened. I would really appreciate it if someone could give a date or value.

This bottle has lost its airtight seal and that is why it is half full/half empty. There is no value in the liquid. I am not sure what the value of this bottle is but as Coke bottles go, this is quite new and common. One of this type sold for 48c in Dec. 2010. There are many older embossed Coke bottles on the market for $1-$10. I see them all the time. With a Zip code in the address line, it is after the 1960s and with a twist off cap, I would say more like the 1980s or newer.

If it lost it's seal then you will be lucky to get $2.

If it was originally bottled that way....you can see $10 and upwards........

There are coke bottle specialists out there, with their own blogs and web-sites, and whilst researching a couple of bottles that came up in the past I came across them. Maybe try them? You'll probably get a definitive response on age, scarcity (or not) and value ..

I hit some rummage sales this morning and while there was no Coke bottle like this one, I did buy an earlier embossed one with Winona, Minn on the bottom for 50c and passed a later one with white pyro lettering for $1.
