cherry seeders
« on: July 02, 2004, 06:32:41 pm »
Hi,

I have a very old cherry seeder that I bought at a yard sale.  I have never seen one like it before.  It has the normal hand crank that separates the seeds from the cherries, but instead of attaching it to a table with a clamp, it stands on four legs that bolt to the bottom of the seeder.  The seeder throat is in two halves which hold the seeder wheel and crank in place.  The only thing stamped on it is some decorative etching and the words "CHERRY SEEDER" on one side and "ELECTRIC" on the other side. There is no date or numbers of any kind.  It stands about 8" to the top of the throat and is about 10" long.  It doesn't look to be made from cast and was not tinned.  It appears to have been preserved with cooking oil.
Does anyone know anything at all about this seeder?
