Brass Lanshire Mantel Clock
« on: July 06, 2004, 06:44:48 pm »

I have a beautiful Brass Mantel Clock. After looking at it and trying to figure out more about it I saw it has something printed on the clock face bottom and in the back of the clock. It says clock movement by Lanshire Chicago, IL.

I can't tell if this is Antique, Vintage or anything else about it. I found one picture that looks similiar but mine is brass with more details. Still most similiar than anything else I have seen.

Any replies welcome. First time here.

Thanks

electric?  key wind?

Have you tried a clock/watch repair service?  We inherited an old watch with a very colorful and kinda' naughty family history.  So off to our local jeweler, who also repairs all kinds of clocks & watches.  Well, he opened it up, and in little tiny writing were repair dates.  And it is solid gold.  And the stories (maybe) could be true, going by the dates.

So, do you think your mantel clock might have marks of repair?  And you might get an idea of date made, and possible value.  PS:  best if you don't open the case yourself.      KB
