HELP ME PLEASE 1850 french basillica bronze candelabras
« on: August 12, 2011, 11:52:51 am »
I was given these and am wondering the value. One is 29 in. tall and 22 in. wide. 2 more that are 26 in. tall and 13 in. wide. They say 1850 and were used in a church.

If the only marking is "1850" then I would assume it is a model number rather than a year. Are you able to post a picture of the 1850 mark? They are really cool and interesting!

I thought these might be gilt brass rather than bronze but color doesn`t look right for that either !!  Its way too dull and flat !!

Goes to show how much I know! I guess they are that old. I still would like to see the mark for my own knowledge. ;) And I agree that they were probably painted.
