hello out there - I have a sweet Koch Lowy floor lamp that I think would look really dynamite if i polished the brass, but am wary of doing anything that might ruin the aged patina it has acquired in the last 40 years - any thoughts on this?  Thanks!

Would love to see it !!  Can you post a pic ??  To polish or not depends on if you eventually plan to sell it !!  Most potential buyers would prefer the original patina !! To remove that would remove the proof of its age !! So whatever it might be worth,,you would lose 50% of its value approx. if it has been polished !!  If you do not plan on selling it and its for your own use and is not a rare type,, go for it !!
