Royal Worcester Tea Set
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:16:43 am »
Hello everyone!
I've been doing research on this pattern but am unable to find a ballpark figure of its worth. It's been sitting on a shelf and not been used...part of what my husband received when his mother passed away.
We'll never use it so we thought we would try and find information about it.

I hope the markings are visible on these photos. If not then I can post them. And I'm not good at doing the Photobucket thing!

You didn`t say how many pieces you have but I just looked at the same set in yellow with 12 ea. cups, saucers, sideplates, 3 B&B plates, sugar, creamer and basin (no teapot) that sold in may at Chorleys auction, UK  for 50 pounds !! They dated the set as being from 1903 but I haven`t checked that !!  That is not very much money and don`t know the exact conversion but I think its around &75. USD !!  That being said,, I think it would sell higher here than in the UK if that is an example of the going prices !!  I would look and see if there is any listed on ebay and see if  it is selling !!

Thank you so much for your reply.
It's a dessert set for six...six pie/cake plates, six cups and saucers, then the tea pot/sugar bowl/creamer.

One thing I was able to find as far as age were the two dots before the Royal, one dot after England, and the 51 in the center of the circle may mean it's fairly old. Not necessarily valuable, though.

I'll double check on ebay again, but the first looking around was, "Wow, but there's a lot of things on ebay!"

Thank you again!

Just enter a search for Royal Worcester and that number which is the registration number for your pattern !! That should narrow it down to a workable number !!  Then sort by the "ending soonest" and then look at the bids and see what they are actually selling for not just what someone thinks they are worth from the start price !!

This site should help with your items  http://www.perfectpieces.co.uk/backstinfo.php?pmanuid=16 !! Your mark is the second one I think !! Tells about the dots and numbers !! The auction said yours was 1903 and from what I read  sounds about right !!  You can also try using royal worcester and the pattern name at replacements.com !!  But their prices are a bit above any actual selling price you would get !!

Thank you for the site!
It's interesting for sure. It's amazing the difference that details make when it comes to these things.

This has certainly spiked interest and some excitement and not just about my items. Some of the other things my husband received are also very old. It's going to be a fascinating experience!

Thank you so much for your help!
