Black Metallic Glazed Mouse Figurine
« on: December 31, 2011, 06:54:47 pm »
I looked everywhere and even had a hard time finding something with the same glazing. I know that this is not just some junk store figurine by the look and feel of it. Any help would be appreciated as to identifying it. I have two, and one has a faint 69 number on the bottom. Thats all as far as marking goes. They stand at just under 5" to the tip of the ears.

Showing my age, but sure looks like it is from the time of Topo Gigio.  The mouse was so popular being touted on The Ed Sullivan Show that he was produced and advertised all around.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I do see the similarities to Topo, but I don't think thats what this is.  It could be s Goebel though..

Don't believe it is Topo Gigio either...but the interest in mice with this style was at it's height during his popularity!  And let's not forget the fascination with Mickey that has endured!
